Bermuda requires that you have adequate unused pages in your passport. All travelers will need a passport valid for at least 90 days following your departure date from Bermuda. However, Bermuda government strongly recommends traveling with six months of validity on your passport at all times.

 

THE DESTINATION
Bermuda is a self-governing British overseas territory in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is an archipelago of 7 main islands and about 170 additional (named) islets and rocks, situated about 650 miles east of Cape Hatteras | North Carolina. Note Bermuda is on Atlantic time, one hour in advance of EST.

Bermuda is known for some very notable customs and creations! Bermuda shorts define true island style, being the fashion of dress for Bermudian men, both business and casual. The flavors of the island include the famous Rum Swizzle and the Dark and Stormy! Bermuda slang, known as Bermy includes Onion, (born and bred Bermudian), Black (short for Bermuda Goslings black seal rum), The Rock (local’s name for Bermuda), Greeze, a big meal typically (and equally famous must try), Bermuda fish sandwich and my personal favorite Ace Girl/Ace Boy – aka Bermudian BFF.
Equally if not the most notable, Mark Twain loved to visit Bermuda and can be quoted as saying many a time, “You can go to Heaven if you want, I’d rather go to Bermuda!”

One of the most recognizable structures with a time honored tradition is the Bermuda Moongate. It is a beautiful formed full circle structure that brings wishes of good luck, love and happiness to all that pass through it! Make a wish on your own or with a loved one! This is one of my favorites at Gibbons Gardens, it is actually a garden tunnel so many wishes to make walking through.
THE CLIMATE
Bermuda has no rainy season. Showers may come and go, but the skies usually clear quickly and the weather doesn’t typically get in the way of outdoor activities and fun! Summer temperatures last from May to mid-November, the warmest weather in Bermuda occurs in July, August and September. The temperature rarely rises above 85ºF. There is nearly always a balmy breeze at night.

The guest rooms and suites are all newly renovated in this majestic Pink Palace, With the group room block and discounted rates, your will enjoy a stay fit for a Princess or Prince!

Group room rate info below is available to each guest until 45 days prior to arrival, so please book early. It is so very easy and accommodating! Rooms that are in BOLD text are in the room block and readily available. Rooms that are NOT in BOLD text are at a group rate, but on request

Rooms have 1 king, 1 Queen or 2 double beds. Bedding on request, not guaranteed, assigned at check in.

All rates are based on single or double occupancy.
Additional persons in room:
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY PER ROOM OR SUITE IS 4 PERSONS INCLUDING CHILDREN. THIS IS PER GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS AND INSURANCE LAWS. 
3rd and 4th adult  in room –  $50.00 per person per night added to room rate plus applicable service charge and resort levy per person.
Age 18 – 6 years sharing room with adult(s) – no additional fee. The applicable per person service charge and resort levy applies.
Age 5 to infant, only applicable services charges applied.
Note that check in time is 4pm | Check out time is 11am. Early check in requests are not accepted, however the hotel is made aware of arrival time of each guest via my advisement once entire group is booked and flight details documented. Hotel will do all possible to make guests comfortable until their room is ready at the earliest possible available time. Late check out requests must be made at guest services on day of departure.

BOOKING PROCEDURE
The group rates and accommodations are only available through Luxury Destination Travel.
Please access the booking form here. Once completed you may scan and email or fax to Linda as on the form. Completed hotel confirmations will be emailed to guests once their room request is confirmed. Guests may extend their stay any number of nights up to 3 nights pre and 3 nights post the room block dates of September 16 | 17 | 18. Indicate your desired dates on your form and the additional nights will be confirmed based on availability. 
Guests are required to provide a valid credit card to book and guarantee reservation, no deposit is required. Cancellations may be made up to 72 hours prior to arrival with no penalty. Cancellations made within 72 hours of arrival will receive a penalty charge of one night room rate to card on file. To cancel reservations, guest must EMAIL Lin@luxurydestinationtravel.com with their travel request 5 days prior to the 72 hours before arrival date. Cancellations in writing via email only!

ALTERNATE ACCOMMODATIONS REQUEST
Please make any request for alternate accommodation to me via email. Please include your exact dates of travel, number of guests and what your approximate budget is for your nightly rate. I am happy to assist however please do keep in mind when considering a stay at an alternate hotel, Bermuda taxi services are government controlled but can still be expensive. Additionally, staying at an alternate hotel and then having to incur taxi costs will cut into your savings. Most importantly, please be aware that though the public areas at the host hotel, Hamilton Princess and beach Club are available to all who visit the hotel, the pools, beach and health club are exclusive to hotel guests only. A true destination wedding experience, spending time with the wedding couple, family and friends may not be fully realized when choosing to stay away from their host hotel. Also when staying at the host hotel, this is where the wedding will be, the convenience of being right on property during the wedding event is a great benefit. Allow me to help you plan accordingly so that you may enjoy all the wonderful experiences within your time frame and budget allowance.

LET’S GO
All major airlines fly into Bermuda either non stop from Eastern seaboard gateways or via connection.
Please email me your dates of travel and airport of departure for applicable flight schedules and fares. It is suggested that you then book your flights direct on the applicable airline website, however I am here to assist with any booking on the site as needed. Please ensure that your name on your ticket matches your passport exactly to avoid any travel delays at airport or on entry to Bermuda. Most airlines also have waived their rebooking penalty so please be sure to check their policy when booking your flights just in case your plans/dates may change.
 

AIRPORT – LF Wade International Airport
Located approximately 20 minutes from Hamilton Princess. Bermuda is in the process of finalizing their building of a brand new airport, slated to be opening early 2021.
The new airport terminal will be a state-of-the-art facility. It will be accessible to all passengers, including features such as covered passenger boarding bridges, and to provide the comfort that travellers have come to expect with more room and modern lounges. There will be improved concessions, restaurants and duty-free offerings as well as views of Bermuda’s beautiful water for passengers to enjoy.

 

Pre-clearance for US departures will remain and security screening and immigration will be streamlined and modernized for a more efficient check-in and arrivals. Global entry kiosks will be available to travelers with this status. Please be sure to arrive at the airport two hours or more ahead of your departure flight time. Remember you must check in, clear US customs and immigrations, check luggage, pass through security and then check out the duty free shops! Do not delay your arrival time at the airport if your are made aware that your flight is delayed. Delays are not fun, neither is long delays at airport, however airline check ins are timed by the scheduled flight time since this is an airport with limited departures. 

• Know before you go!
  • Immigrations arrival forms will be given out either at your departure area gate or on the plane. Have the forms filled out completely and with your passport ready for the Immigrations Officer to ensure a speedy process through immigrations!
  • Bermuda dollar is on par with USD – USD is widely accepted on Bermuda. Be sure to exchange/use all your Bermuda currency prior to heading to the airport! There is no exchange outlet at the airport or in the US! Travelers checks are not accepted anywhere in Bermuda
  • Electrical outlets are same as the US so no additional adaptors needed!
  • Debit cards and Credit card companies may charge fees. Check with your card company or bank prior to travel! Also make them aware that you are traveling internationally so that they do not put a hold on your card for non pattern charges.  Valid credit card is required at hotel check in. There is an ATM machine in the hotel lobby, managed by Bank of Butterfield, bermuda. Money is dispensed in BD on par with USD.
  • All major mobile phone companies operate on Bermuda. Check with your mobile service provider for international charges that may apply.
  • Gratuity charges are added on to all food and beverage bills automatically regardless of the size of the party! Be sure to be aware of this to avoid adding/double gratuity charges!
  • Bermuda  driving is on left side of the road. Please be aware when driving moped, Twizy or electric mini vehicle.
  • Guests of the island are asked to be aware to cover up when in public places, no bathing suits, shirtless men or extreme shorts shorts on women please.
  • Bermudians love to be greeted Good Morning, Good Day, Good Evening! Friendliness abounds
  • Passport Details: Please be aware that all US citizens, including infants and children, traveling outside of the United States are required to have a valid US passport.
    It is suggested that your passport has an expiry date that is 6 months past the return date from your last visited non US destination. Now is a good time to check that passports and begin the renewal process if needed. With limited staffing, the passports turn around times are much longer than usual.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
Perhaps you never take it when you travel, and maybe just don’t want the added expense, however unforeseen situations do happen! It is better to have it and not need it than to not have it and wish you did! Please inquire with me via email on travel insurance costs once your hotel and flights are booked.
